Ape Escape 3 is the highlight of all the gaming products I have purchased this year! Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, please step aside! Ape Escape is great fun for all ages, but children will especially enjoy it.
Ape Escape is set around our time in a high tech laboratory. Loads of monkeys have escaped from high-security confinement, and it is up to our heroes (named Satoru & Sayaka) to warp them safely away back into containment. The monkeys are led by a particularly nasty one that goes by the name of 'Specter'. To continue his dastardly plans, Specter launches a TV station - aptly named Specter TV - which causes all viewers to 'enter a complete state of lethargy'. The game has a sweet 'naffness' that is perfect for the kids, and with the sweet little 'Gotcha Gadgets' - the equipment used to stun and capture the monkeys, is a sure-fire hit for family gaming. Another sweet little feature is that all monkeys captured have their own birthday, and, by means of the 'Fortune Zone' allow you to read your daily horoscope. So, for wonderful, clean, family fun, I would recommend Ape Escape 3 to EVERYONE.

Another winner from the Ape Esacape team!,

I love this game! Its's yet another great title in the best-selling Ape Escape series from Sony. You can morph into different personas this time, such as WildWest Kid or Gotcha Man.
There are over 400 different monkeys to catch and many levels that all parodyfamous movies-particularly impressive is the Tip-Top Gun level,a parody of Top Gun,in which you jump over the wings of planes, trying to catch those pesky monkeys! The game does smack of ploitical correctness in places-having a girl character and a female scientist is my point-and some of ther levels parody the first two games a bit much-even some of the music used in the game is from the first game, seven years ago! Overall though, with Simian Cinema,Market Street and the excellent mini-game Mesal Gear Solid, this is one title that proves one thing-Ape Escape is a tried and trusted great game, that, quite literally, can so no wrong!Specter even has the same birthday as me, too-the 28th January!

I'm not a great one for writing reviews but this game was so amusing I felt I had to.
The style can be a little cutesy in places but overall a twisted Japanese sense of humour shines through. The plot line (if you can call it that) focuses on monkeys taking over the world through TV broadcasts. This gives a large range of genres to enjoy / mock, all of which are done with aplomb. However the main event is still catching the escaped monkeys which come in many varieties and levels of evasion and aggression. Catching them can sometimes be fairly tricky and they do fight back. You'll encounter Mer-monkeys, Space-monkeys, Medieval-monkeys, Ninja-monkeys, Cowboy-monkeys... Luckily you're give the tools to do the job. Starting with a stun stick and a net you'll soon upgrade to a catapult, a hand-held helicopter and various different disguises allowing transformation and special skills. These include a Knight, a Cowboy, a Kung-Fu Master and a Ninja. All of these are required to finish the game. You also get a Metal Gear Solid tribute with monkeys and bizarre horoscopes. All in all, highly recommended for any age
