I am absoultely kicking myself for not reading the reviews before purchasing. After being stung on Ebay by a simliar fake controller, I foolishly assumed I would be safe buying through Amazon, because such an established retailer would not be selling counterfeit goods - wrong!
These are very convincing fakes - they come sealed in authentic looking packaging, and are not visibly inferior to the genuine product - its only when you charge it up and connect it that the problems emerge - mine was slow to sync to the PS3, the indicator lights "bleed" into the rest of the surround, the analog sticks are jerky and the L3 and R3 buttons very flaky. If you search for "fake PS3 controller" on Youtube you will see these controllers featuring on a number of useful videos.
Amazon have agreed to refund me, but that frankly is not good enough - the first customer review to point out these are fake was 20 months ago! Why haven't Amazon acted to remove these from sale?
