Few bands do instrumental music and even fewer do it well. This band clearly are fans of Karma to Burn having adopted not only a similar riff rock style but a numbering of tracks. Hardly a problem though as 'SOAC' deliver a mostly highly original album the likes of which has never really come out of England and all delivered in a style and finish not far from bands like Pelican and Isis. Can't wait to hear where they take their sound next.

Essentially all the makings of classic album, new ideas, ground breaking riffs AND this beauty is delivered in exclusive packaging so sublime it makes me want to buy another. So buy it!

If you like your rock with a generous dash of stoner, then this is the band for you.

Tremendous intricate guitar playing matched with infectiously smooth riffs makes for fantastic listening. Every time you listen all the way through the albuum you will hear something new.

I would go so far as saying the songs are byzantine in their nature - partly because I have always wanted to use the word byzantie in a sentence, partly because it's true.

This album works in any environment for any occasion from driving, to partying to vegetating on the sofa.

Tell a lie, it would make terrible karaoke!

This 68 minute long debut from the Kent-based stoner rock outfit is a record to be proud of. As a previous reviewer commented, '9' is indeed like a proper doomy version of Last of the Mohicans. '23', '31', '21' are also driving, forceful pieces of controlled rock. Anyone with a vague interest in Helmet, Kyuss & Karma to Burn should really enjoy this album. The lack of vocals doesn't really hinder the band as the music itself is memorable enough not to require them. A very solid offering.
