Product Description

Sons of Anarchy is an adrenalised drama with darkly comedic undertones that explores a notorious outlaw motorcycle club’s (MC) desire to protect its livelihood while ensuring that their simple, sheltered town of Charming, California remains exactly that: charming. The MC must confront threats from drug dealers, corporate developers and overzealous law officers. Behind the MC’s familial lifestyle and legally thriving automotive shop is a ruthless, thriving illegal arms business. This is a series about the seduction of money, power and blood.

Charlie Hunnam stars as Jackson ‘Jax’ Teller, the MC’s Vice-President who is tested by his growing apprehension for its lawlessness. Katey Sagal stars as Gemma Teller Morrow, Jax’s force-of-nature mother; and Ron Perlman stars as Clarence ‘Clay’ Morrow, Jax’s stepfather and MC President. The triangle of mother, son and stepfather will ultimately reveal the dark secrets in this family’s past and the lengths they will go to protect their sins.

This season begins with SAMCRO fresh out of jail and back into Charming. Upon their arrival, they encounter new law enforcement and head right back to business. The club is pressed with a decision that could challenge what SOA has always stood for and brings forth an unlikely alliance. Jax, fresh out of jail and dealing with the birth of his new-born son, is forced to put new plans into motion that could affect the club and ultimately his family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Season 4 a return to form 11 Jan 2012
By 2kool
Format:DVD
Sons of Anarchy is an outstanding show and one that I always look forward to watching.

I've been privileged to see Season 4 from the USA, and Season 4 is a return to form (from Season 3). The show opens with the MC heading in a new direction with new villains, friends and sub-plots. The speed with which the plot develops is rapid and we learn more about each of the characters we've come to love.

The season opens with Jax, Clay, et al being released from prison after serving their time. Upon their return to Charming they're greeted by a New Sheriff and learn of Jacob Hale's plans to build real estate in the picturesque Californian town. At the heart of the season is a tension between Jax and Clay about the future direction of the club. Clay know's his time is coming to an end, as health is deteriorating and he wants to make as much money as possible, whereas Jax has a loyalty to the club his father founded and the other members. Once again kudos to Hunnam and Perlman for their acting chops as they sell every scene they share together.

There is of course heartbreak along the way for many of our most beloved characters so be prepared to have a tissue or two at hand as we say goodbye to some of our favourite characters. The main theme of the season is honesty and being truthful to those that are closest to us. John Teller's (JT) letters (which you may recall Tara began to read in the final scenes of Season 3) is the catalyst for some outstanding drama within Season 4. As you can probably imagine there

Along the way we learn what really happened to JT and how he really died as well as finding out how the MC adjust to life back on the outside when the rules of the game have changed somewhat. This all builds to a brutal, honest and ultimately satisfying conclusion of season 4. Be warned there is a major surprise in the final episode of the season (which I didn't see coming) and initially I wasn't keen on as well as several other fans, but the more you relfect upon this, the more you anticipate and look forward to Season 5.

Season 5 heads in a completly new direction which is one of the strengths of the show. It's always fresh, always interesting and never boring. SOA we salute you and look forward to your return in 2012.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply THE BEST season ever !! Gotta love it. 2 May 2012
Format:DVD
I just bought season 4 while on vacation in Guatemala - and watched the whole thing within two days cause it's so brilliant you can't stop watching. To me this is the best season so far. The story builds up and gets better and more captivating with each episode. Even though they're bad guys, you just gotta love em. And be aware : the last episode comes up with a such a big surprise that I'm sure no one saw coming and that leaves you speachless, cause you just didn't expect this.... The only bad thing is having to wait for another year no before I can see how it goes on.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sons of Anarchy - Season 4: BRILLIANT 16 Mar 2012
By Mr. William Oxley VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
Sons of Anarchy is one of the best American TV series on at the moment. Season 4 is a classic that just oozes class in every department; the story, the visuals, the sound track, the drama, and the non stop action with unexpected twists.

At the end of Season 3 the FBI were out gunned and out played by Jax. Season 4 starts with the release from jail of Samcro and a family celebration - but there is a new Sheriff in town and he plays a different tune - better watch out. From the get-go there is revenge and death as President Clay Morrow puts in play a new audacious retirement plan that will threaten to tear the club apart. Underscoring the whole series are the letters from Jax's dad's old Irish flame that threaten to reveal the truth about his death. Surely Clay and Jax are on a collision path, from which only one will walk away from!

There are 14 episodes in series 4 featuring; the Mayans, the Niners, the Irish, the local Sheriff, and a new law enforcement team, plus the Mexican cartels. You got to love the action, the individual loyalties, the shifting alliances, the politics, the almost pure anarchy that surrounds them.

Let us not forget the strong female characters of Jax's mother Gemma, who seems to almost run the club by virtue of influencing all the men around her, she is the beating heart that glues the whole gang. Plus Jax's girlfriend Tara who is divided between her love for Jax and her desire to get away from the ever present dangers that surround the bikers - but she can not have one without the other, can she?

TV does not get any better than this! Well you better watch out because Hell on Wheels is coming over soon. Plus Dexter has been commissioned for 2 more series. Is there anything else to watch before Season 5 comes around?
