I liked the album a lot. I got the CD on a whim not really knowing muck about the band except a little hearsay and was pleased to find an album that i can listen to again and again.
Where SOAC are different is the lack of lyrics. At first this can put you off as many of us are set to think of music without singing as naff, but in fact i found it very refreshing, certaintly much better than having a mediocre voice ruin some very good music. In fact without naff lyrics etc you can really get into the different bits of music and how they interact with each other, even interpretting the music for yourself.

For £10 it is definately worth the money.

I'm not on the payroll - unlike the other reviewers, I reckon - but this is an absolutely quality CD. Check out track 9 in particular, some crazy Last-of-the-Mohicans-meets-stoner-rock epic

Few bands do instrumental music and even fewer do it well. This band clearly are fans of Karma to Burn having adopted not only a similar riff rock style but a numbering of tracks. Hardly a problem though as 'SOAC' deliver a mostly highly original album the likes of which has never really come out of England and all delivered in a style and finish not far from bands like Pelican and Isis. Can't wait to hear where they take their sound next.

Essentially all the makings of classic album, new ideas, ground breaking riffs AND this beauty is delivered in exclusive packaging so sublime it makes me want to buy another. So buy it!
