Hearing restored,

This review is from: Sonic SuperEar Personal Sound Amplifier by Sonic Technology (Electronics)
I bought one of these because a bad cold knocked out 80% of my hearing for about 6 weeks. It is brilliant! Previously I couldn't hear someone talking at a normal level more than 3 feet away. With this I sat through meetings in a variety of sized rooms from small team meetings to full council meetings with no issues at all. I now have a much greater understanding of the difficulties for people with long term hearing issues.

People mumble these days!,

If you have noticed this problem then I recommend this ampifier. So far I have used it to lift TV sound from the level prefered by the rest of the family and it does this well. I have yet to try it at a meeeting but I'm fairly confident it will be a help. The supplied headphones are adequate but the headphone socket is a standard one and it accepts all headsets that I have tried including ones which are more cumbersome but more comfortable. Signal to noise ratio is good.
Good value for money.

A decent listener for the hard of hearing,

This is a better listener than others because it uses headphones rather than ear buds. Headphones are more comfortable than ear buds and do not need to be constantly adjusted (also there is less risk of infection). Also you get very little feedback (squawking). It needs to be on a surface rather than on the body (like most listeners). So it is good for watching the TV. If you already have a listener with ear buds, I suggest that you try it with headphones instead, cheap light-weight ones will do.
I bought JVC Lightweight Headphones - Black, seems to work OK! NB. In my research on listeners I later bought one that is both smaller and cheaper which works well Hearing Amplifier
