Fun:
Play as every character from their perspective as the story unfolds. Complete the game from all perspectives to unlock the Super Sonic Character.

I originally owned this on the Dreamcast and I was obsessed with the introduction of Chao; the cyber pets that you can raise and play with as the game goes on. Or even take time off from the game to train them to be unbeatable Chao westlers.
I spent many hours training my chao on the visual memory units (memory cards with screens - that were gaming tools in their own right) and connecting them with friends' units to battle and even breed.
Some of these features are lost in the PC conversion. They can still breed and battle but only amongst your own Chao. One would have thought there would be a net feature like on the Dreamcast. But nevermind, this is only one small aspect of a much larger game.

I realise I spent a lot of time talking about the Chao, which is really just a sub game of the whole game. But it's worth mentioning as once you have completed the game in its entirety it's these sub-games that will keep you returning to play again and again, to keep you earning rings that can be used as currency to buy your Chao essential items for them to play, train, and breed. While collecting animals to let your Chao learn new skills from them so they can evolve into many different types and colours.

Ground breaking for its time and even though now slightly dated, its a timeless classic that any Sonic fan can't afford to be without!
So, come on! Collect the Chaos Emeralds and save the world!

....Again!

Amazing 14 July 2011

Fun:
this was one of my favourite games when i was younger i rember lots of it as fun boss fights and chao's breeding :)

one of the great things about this game is the campaign its not just sonic battling doctor egg man as normal this time you play as lots of sonic hero all working together to stop Chaos for taking al the chaos emeralds and becoming invincible and destroying the world.
sonic
tails
knuckles
amy
big
and a robot whos name i forgot after years
each of them plays a different story involving all the same characters for example as sonic you may fight chaos as forms 1 3 4 6 7 but require knuckles to fight the other aswell as some you fight as sonic

A general overview is that a creature called chaos who is a chaos god came from the master emerald and doctor egg man is feeding him emralds you job is to stop him for gaining all 7 before its too late

Sonics- you play as sonic gathering the emeralds and fighting chaos along the way

Knuckles- you were gaurding the master emerald but when chaos escaped he broke it now you must find all the pieces and trap caos before the floating island falls

Amys- you love sonic so spent the entire game fighting people in the name of love by love i mean a huge mallet trying to get sonic to love you >

Tails- assisting sonic by gathering the chaos emeralds you use your powers in mini games to help find them

Big- your faithfuls companion froggy has been going missin you must help find him by fishing for him and saving you friends life

Robot- gammas aka e102 at the start is created by eggman and must defeat his older brother e101 aka beta to stay on doctor eggmans carriers but soon after a thrilling plot twisit takes place *spoilers*

as well as that and the chao garden there is game you can use your chao's for by using the animals you free during the story and rare chao's which must been found as the golden silver black and pink ext. all in all this game is amazing better than most games made now so worth a good shot very cheap aswell 5/5 10/10 10000?111

enjoy ps sorry for grammar or spelling

Had flaws. 22 July 2007

Fun:
I actually stumbled across this game at Target (I was originally going to but LOTR: Return of the King for PC) and bought it for 10 bucks. At the time, I thought it was an awesome game. Looking back, however, the game now seems a little...whats the word? Lacking? Disappointing? Anyway, it's basically a direct port of he Gamecube version. Not nearly as good, unless you play this game with a game pad, where it becomes at least acceptable.
Also, there was an INSANE amount of glitches in this game. Run over to where the parking garage connects to the Train Station in Station Square and spindash. If you did it right, you'll got through the wall.
If you have a Gamecube, buy it for Gamecube. Even better, if you have a Dreamcast, buy the original game, Sonic Adventure, for Dreamcast.
Nothing special about this version of the game 7 Mar 2007

Fun:
Its appears to be a port of the Gamecube version. Graphically it is different then the Gamecube version in certain aspects. The framerate is very jumpy unless you have a high end machine, there are camera bugs, (its not perfect) and the Game Gear mini games are not as smoothed out as they should be. They are too pixelated, even when you play in the original format mode (which is a reduced size image)

I bought this because I wanted to play this game but did not have a Gamecube or Dreamcast.

Ok for Sonic Fans, but the money should be on the Gamecube version if you have a Gamecube that is...
