Mark Butcher former England batsman and county captain retired from the game and has become a fine singer/guitarist with a first class band.As they've been playing live dates for the last year or two excellent reviews have been forthcoming from promoters and journalists. Now the album, which has up to now been available from of all places Surrey Cricket Club, but now generally available (do get yours from Amazon though). Don't know what bat he used to play but he's clearly playing a Fender Telecastor guitar and very well too. This is a self written set of songs extremely well performed throughout,he has a very listenable voice and the band are really tight throughout.I'm glad this album is being made generally available because it deserves to do well.Modern blues and soul, touches here and there of sounds that remind of Sam Cooke and Al Green. Mark should do well if this album can be heard on Radio 2 or shows such as Paul Jones Blues Show.
'Songs From The Sun House' great first album from one I think is a major talent, good songs, well played and a worthy addition to any collection..please do get to hear it !
