One of the great features here is the internationalism of the collection. All poems are written in English, but not all by English poets. Alongside English classics, you get writers from Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, America, Canada... From this the reader gains a breadth of perspective, form and language use, from the moving to the playful. Never judge a book by its cover - this one is decidedly dull - but the poems inside form a wide, fascinating selection.
