The 'Burt Bacharach Songbook' is simply crammed full of timeless classics from start to finish. The winning songwriting duo of Burt and Hal David are fused here with some of the smoothest + greatest voices of the postwar era (Warwick, Distel, Springfield, Shaw, Monro, etc, etc). The resulting output could hardly been anything short of total excellence!
You'll recognise virtually all of these tracks the minute they start - even if you don't think you will! Their usage in TV, Film + advertising, alongside the coverage in pop idol, have placed them right bang @ the centre of popular culture and consciousness. And life (in my humble opinion) is all the better for that!
At just 30p per track this compilation is simply stunning value! But this is no tacky bargin bin piece - the packaging matches the content perfectly: cool, clean, smart, fun, light, sophisticated.
Brighten up your life!

The technical qualities of the recording are as flawless as the performances 15 Aug. 2009
By Midwest Book Review - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Burt Bacharach is legendary for his smooth musical compositions and performances. In a new album showcasing Bacharach's musical genius, vocal artist Carol Duboc is very ably backed up by flautist Hubert laws, as well as guitarist Danny Embrey, pianist Joe Cartwright, with Bob Bowman on bass, Tim Cambron on drums, and Luis Conte on percussion. The individual pieces comprising this outstanding anthology of Burt Bacharach classics include What The World Needs Now Is Love; Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head; Wives And Lovers; My Melody; Anyone Who Had A Heart; Walk On By; I'll Never Fall In Love Again; The Look Of Love; A House Is Not A Home; Close To Your; Always Something There To Remind Me; and Say A Little Prayer. The technical qualities of the recording are as flawless as the performances. The "The Burt Bacharach Songbook" is enthusiastically recommended for personal and community library music CD collections.
