Cliche after Cliche 11 Jun 2010
By shalee
Format:Paperback
I've only recently started to read novels by this author and I was bitterly disappointed in this book. The storyline was very predictable and the "falling in love" between Maddy and the Farmer was a complete cliche and rather unbelivable.
I have to admit to skipping various chunks, which is very unlike me, because I found the whole novel very dull.

Very disappointed 17 Mar 2009
By Ms P. Wilson TOP 1000 REVIEWER VINE™ VOICE

I was very disappointed in this book. I have read most of Josephines books though have to admit her latest books I have not enjoyed as much but this book I found was a waste of my time. I finished the book only due to the fact I kept hoping that it would start improving but sadly no!
It was a typical ending ...Josephine please start writing good books again before I give up buying your work.

We chose this book for our book club, as it was reviewed on the Times booklist. But we all found it a bit lightweight. As one of our members said, you felt like slapping her and telling her to stop being so silly!
An easy holiday read (we're all ex-pats living in NZ and the summer hols have just finished).

I bought this book on my kindle and I had read it in a week. It was gripping and bittersweet. Josephine Cox is an excellent writer and I really enjoy her books.

I thoroughlly enjoyed this book. Why it's got such a mixed review, I can't understand.

The emotions of the characters certainly came through in the story, and it held... Read more
