i read my first Mildred D. Taylor book whilst at school. and loved it. it was 'Roll of thunder hear my cry'. i now have most of the books about the logan family. and love everyone of them. this book helps give readers a better understanding of the logans family history regarding their land and the trees. and is a must read for anyone who loved the logan family and any of Mildred Taylor's other books.

I remember reading this book a few years back
I particularly enjoyed reading the book again as its the only one in the series that talks about the trees and the connection with the Logan family. The Land (prequel) is a broader insight with the connection and truly a delight to read

Book is not 64 pages. It starts on 5, ends on 48, incl. 13 pages of illustrations, so not much reading in it.
My daughter liked it but read it in a few minutes.

I really liked this book.It may be short, but it has a lot of action in it.I did'nt like it when Mr.Anderson threatened Big Ma in cutting down the trees.Ido'nt have much to write, but Iwant to tell all the readers that you have to read this book. IT'S AWSOME!!!!
