After seeing this televised ages ago 1984 - I got the LP, and the sound quality was not that great. So good to see this out in CD format was great. I love Sarah's version of Song & Dance. The sound quality has improved no end, the one negative comment is the lack of photos from the show that the LP had. I would remomend this to everyone who love a good show tune and likes the Sarah Brightman and Andrew Lloyd Webber combination.

Studieed the Dance themes from this in high school, many years ago. It is as good as ever and nice to hear a young Sarah Brightman again. Really cannot rate this album high enough.

I've been looking for this everywhere and am so glad I found it.
I didn't want the newer version as in my opinion Sarah Brightman's
is the best. I've listened to it over and over and will continue to do so.
Buy it - it's great!

I bought this CD recently because I wanted the Sarah Brightman version of this show. I found a I would say young voice of Sarah which was more nasal than experienced, but I think this should give the recording a more jazzy sound. I like Sarahs theatrical voice more.

Videod a TV presentation of the show back in the 80's and watched it many times. As it is in BETA format do not get to see it enough. This CD gives the music and lyrics if not the picture. Still looking for a DVD.

Great performance by Sarah Brightman in this beautiful show, also known as "Tell me on a Sunday". I have two other versions of "Tell me on a Sunday"/"Song & Dance, one with Marti Webb (Tell me on a Sunday) and the other with Bernadette Peters (Song & Dance; Songs). Each of them remarkable in their own right.

I wouldn't call myself a Sarah Brightman fan but I certainly admire her as Christine, including her recent appearance at the 25th anniversary performances. I was pleasantly surprised by this album, recorded in her pre-Phantom days when she was only 23. Her high notes (here as everywhere) are a matter of taste, but she sings beautifully and brings a perfect naivete to the character. For all its cheesiness, I've always found this song cycle strangely moving. (Being a European now living in Manhattan might have added to that impression when listening to it again for the first time in many years.) The CD booklet, however, is a joke, with names like "van Gogh," "Spencer Tracy," and "Beverly Hills" misspelled in the lyrics, and illustrated with random New York images and weird, low-res Google maps (!) of Baltimore and LA. The jewel-case inlay has a fair amount of (very small) color photos from the show.
