1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy 14 July 2012
Format:Audio CD
Dust Sucker was a poor quality, unofficial, badly packaged version of Beefheart's lost 'Bat Chain Puller' album. Son of Dust Sucker is the same thing, with different bonus tracks. These bonus tracks are awful quality. Beefheart is a genius, and Bat Chain Puller is a work of art. So do yourself a favour, avoid this, and get the 'Bat Chain Puller' album released early 2012 on the Zappa family trusts VAULTernative records. VR2012-1. Not available on Amazon, but google it and you'll find it. The tapes have been remastered and the project was overseen by Magic Band members Denny Whalley and John French, who both played on the album. Quality is a zillion times better than Dust Sucker & son. 3 bonus tracks vs SODS 9, but at least they are listenable. Packaging includes extensive notes by Denny,John and Gail Zappa. Also included is some previously unseen art work by Don.
There is absolutely no reason to buy this rubbish when a far superior, official version exists.

1.0 out of 5 stars Another shoddy bootleg from Ozit 14 July 2012
By ab23
Format:Audio CD
Ozit continue to release shoddy bootlegs of the legendary 'Bat Chain Puller', despite the fact that a remastered, beautiful-sounding version is now available from the Zappa Family Trust. Buy 'BCP' from them, and avoid this piece of junk....it really doesn't deserve the one star Amazon requires that I give it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sucker describes it perfectly 27 July 2012
By arvids
Format:Audio CD
I don't do reviews, but in this case I'll make an exception, as I'm keen to drag its overall rating down as close to one star as possible. The quality of the music, & the stunningly brilliant Vaulternative release from the Zappa Family Trust, are already well-documented. However, this Ozit "re-release" is a beyond-cynical attempt to cash in after their previous dismal effort.
P.S. Regarding the definitive Vaulternative issue, type "Barfko-Swill" into Google or your preferred internet search engine.
