Product Description

180 gram Super Fidelity vinyl + High Definition Digital Download. This double vinyl LP contains 4 bonus tracks not on the CD version of the album. A native of Buffalo in the state of New York, this singer, guitarist and organ player is one of the most authentic legatees of blues today; he knows of its forefathers and their oral tradition, respects its history and its legacy and knows how to play and sing it like nobody else, with his booming voice brimming with emotion. Mixing original compositions and inspired covers (of Bobby Blue Bland, Wilson Pickett and even Johnny Nash), he brings us an album on which poetry, dark thoughts and hope combine with an insuppressible groove. With these eleven tracks forged in a furnace of fiery soul and rhythm n blues, giving off the odd spark of gospel and rock n roll, Lucky Peterson isn t just making his big comeback. He s putting blues, the oldest form of black American music, back on the forefront of the stage.

The breadth of this mans musical skills is phenomenal. I was given this album as a birthday present and just loved it because of the diverse styles that lucky applies himself to. It isn't just Blues but RnB too, and even has a tip of the hat towards Funk. I have just completed a cherry-picking exercise by raiding Amazon for favourite tracks from his many albums for an mp3 download. All the albums are worth listening to. I'd buy the lot if I had enough money but had to limit myself to a selection of 17 tracks today, including a brilliant cover of Hendrix's tune 'Up From The Skies' . If you want to get just one of Lucky Petersons albums you won't be going wrong by getting this one. He is an extremely accomplished guitar and keyboards man with a wickedly cool voice too.Once you get into the taste you'll want more
