Shadow Play 18 Oct 2010
Format:Audio CD
This is a disappointing recording. Aberfeldy have returned to the sound of the first album, but with songs of lesser quality. After a woman for woman replacement of their departed players, they're in danger of sounding like their own tribute band.

But the song-writing's the weakness. Malcolm and California, West Lothian are fine but there's a mile of self-pity in between. Riley Briggs needs to admit his woman's gone and move on. On the other hand, as usual his singing and guitar would steal your heart.

Well worth the wait 7 Oct 2010
Format:Audio CD
It's been a long time since the last album - nevermind, just be glad Aberfeldy's back! The new collection is just as good as you'd expect from Riley Briggs and company. The first single, "Malcolm," is a treat, but there's much more to enjoy here.
