Format:Audio CD
Ever since seeing the film Somewhere in Time with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour, I have tried in vain to find the soundtrack, but now I have it.... oh happy day, I am ecstatic! It is hard to pick a favourite from the 9 tracks, as John Barrys theme of Somewhere in Time, performed by Roger Williams, is equally as moving as Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini. This cd is a 'must have' for anyones collection.

If you loved the film, then you won't be able to resist the soundtrack to it. The main theme is just beautiful, especially Roger Williams version of it - which is included here. Quite a few of the tracks here are simply variations of the main theme, but they still drip with quality. Parts of one track - "A day together" - sound similar to parts of the "Dances with Wolves" soundtrack, which John Barry also composed (although some 10 years later). My only criticism of the CD, is that's it's a little short, with a total playing time of 31:55, but what is on offer here is so good you'l soon overlook that fact. As soon as you listen to this CD, you'll want to watch the film again, and whenever you watch the film again...you'll want to listen to the CD!, so you won't regret buying it!. In fact, even if you haven't seen the film, if you're a fan of soundtracks it's still worth checking out anyway.

There are many soundtracks that seem to be lost when listened to away from the film, however, this is NOT one of them. The haunting melody that runs through the film seems to reach deep inside, touching deep recesses that generate emotions. Listen to it in the car and you will relax, listen late at night and you will be calmed - it's that sort of music, touching so much and giving far more than expected.
I loved this from the first time I heard it, indeed immediately after seeing the film I hunted down the record; now I have the CD and even after many years of listening to it, it still draws deep feelings to the surface - wonderful.
It is one of those pieces of music that, when you close your eyes, conjures up images of love and happiness and yet can be so very sad at the same time. Indeed John Barry must have a touch of genius in order to switch deep emotions on after just a few bars.
In short if you are a romantic, buy it, you will not be disappointed.

Somewhere in Time CD
This fabulous music is from my all time favourite film 'Somewhere in Time' to listen to the music again and again is wonderful, very good indeed.
