One of Britney's Best!,

In April 1999, Jive records released Britney Spears' follow-up record to the smash-hit single '...baby one more time', called 'Sometimes'. Even though the highest it reached was #3, 'Sometimes' remains one of Britney's finest tunes to date from questionably one of her weakest albums, the debut '...baby one more time'. Commencing slow in the first few bars, 'Sometimes' detonates gradually on a ever-increasing tempo that experiments with new ideas as does other subsequent singles such as 'Stronger' and 'I'm a Slave 4U'. Britney's vocal range is again apparent throughout the entire song, although still not able to rival Christina Aguilera or Mariah Carey on contemporary sound, this is still an electrifying song with intelligent verses from writer Jorgen Elofsson and an exhilarating driving backbone. Track 2 is the Soul Solution (Mid Tempo Mix) at slightly shorter running time of 3:29 compared to 3:55 of the Radio Edit on Track 1. Even though the beat is much faster, it appears to be slower as the verses are more deliberate and synthesisers resemble that of East 17. Track 3, 'I'm So Curious' is another classic Britney B-Side that actually, along with Madchester band 'Oasis', rivals the original album track on ingenuity. Track 3 is more like a song pulled from Britney's second album 'Oops, I did it again' where duel layers of voices are present and continually overlap each other to create her own unique sound. The chorus is pure bubblegum music and will be sure to have young girls singing into their hairbrushes in front of the mirror for weeks. A must for all Britney fans.

Britney's second release from her album ...Baby One More Time is a slushy balled full of sweet lyrics. The single includes a Radio Edit of "Sometimes", bonus track "I'm So Curious" (NOT found on ANY album!) and a remix of "Sometimes". This single has a pretty yellow picture sleeve with the lyrics of the title song included! Great buy!!!
