More About the Author

A school project from when Rebecca was 6 reads, 'when I grow up I want to be an artist and a writer'. After a brief detour from this career plan involving a degree in philosophy and a dull office job she fulfilled her plan in 2001 when she became a full time children's book illustrator and has since written and illustrated hundreds of picture books published worldwide including the award-winning Just Because, Zoo Girl, The Last Tiger, Naked Trevor and Mr Super Poopy Pants.
Her artistic style has evolved throughout the years and now takes much inspiration from her obsession with all things mid-century, vintage and Scandinavian.
She lives in Suffolk in the UK with her husband, a history teacher and three children, all professional monkeys.

Format: Paperback
This book is BRILLIANT and should be on bookshelves in homes, schools, libraries and hospitals!

As a mum and as a children's nurse I LOVED the cheekiness and warmth in the story, but the sensitivity too in addressing the difficult world and reality of children with long term conditions in hospitals. It is BRILLIANTLY illustrated (especially the dreaded peas!) and reads smoothly. Buy it for your bookshelf and buy a copy for someone you know, as people will LOVE it!

We purchased this book for our playgroup as something different. And we weren't disappointed, even though our children are aged between 2-4 years they all sit and listen carefully to how the family adapt to life with a child in a wheelchair, visiting hospital regular. A must read for all.
