5.0 out of 5 stars Simply beautiful. 23 Aug 2006
Format:Audio CD
Hayley Sanderson has a beautifully clear voice with a fantastic timbre that really gives this old song new life.

The original by Thunderclap Newman was totally spoiled, in my opinion, by the schoolboy-ish instrumental (which the artists themselves admit was an amateurish failure).

This is a simple arrangement of piano and strings that builds through each verse (and no, there's no midway instrumental!) to a crescendo and Hayley's voice is captivating from start to finish.

You will not be disappointed with this CD single. It is an example of how old music comes to life - in the right hands.

1.0 out of 5 stars How more annoying can you get! 5 Sep 2006
By Ben
Format:Audio CD
This tune has been hammered senseless on TV for months, thanks to (Carphone Warehouse) TalkTalk's sponsorship of Big "Bloody" Brother! I challenge any sensible person to dare admitting they can still listen to this song without going berserk! I know part of the proceeds of this single will go to the TreeHouse charity for children suffering of autism, but if you want my 2p advice: make a donation straight to them and spare your ears unnecessary pain!
