California Desert rocker, Brant Bjork, famed for his stints with Kyuss and Fu Manchu in his time off between bands, and since leaving full time touring acts behind, has released almost a dozen recordings, ranging from one-of bands to proper solo albums, to soundtrack work for his own films. This man is talented and it shows in every recording he has produced.
Brant Bjork's second album with the Bros, "Somera Sol", finds the perfect middle ground between his first release "Saved By Magic" and his solo efforts. Smooth, guitar-driven jams and laid back positive grooves make this the perfect CD to throw on when you're trying to chill out, sipping on a few Cuervos at the end of a hard day. Or stick it in while out driving your low rider, you can almost feel the desert sun smoldering through your speakers. Put the top down, hit the hydraulics and dance across the flats.

This is music at its best but not necessarily Bjork's best. I tend to lean more towards his "Jalamanta" release as being one of his best. Jalamanta is the essence of Bjork, the pillar of his style, the seed of his musical existence. All of his other recordings have to measure up to Jalamanta.
And most get pretty close so forget my ramblings, place the needle in the groove or spot the laser on the CD and enjoy.
