This book is basically a childrens horror story about a girl called Emma. And as my name is Emma and all the bad things happen to her then it probably seemed worse than it was! But I read it when I was 10 or 11 and was very scared, and it was sad aswell.
It is basically about this girl called Emma, who stays at a place called Cotes Hall and is very bored. Until she finds this doll. But something's a bit weird with the doll. It's quite good in that even if you're scared out of your wits, it keeps you reading till the end but I didn't enjoy reading it much.
Horror stories aren't my favourite, but aswell as being scary and sad, the plot was incredibly complicated. It's a short book but so much goes on that it was quite hard to follow. I expect that if I read it again it would be much easier and I wouldn't be scared. (But I don't have it any more so I can't!) I wouldn't recommend it for young people unless they love horror stories, because it's scary and complicated.
Not bad but it could be much better.
