Product Description

A talented young surgeon is haunted by a terrible incident from his past, jeopardising both his future and the lives of those closest to him.

Fifteen years ago Sam Becker’s younger sister Cathy was brutally murdered by his best friend – ripping his world apart with a legacy of guilt and recriminations. Now a respected heart surgeon, and happily married, Sam has finally managed to move on. But when he saves a family during a terrifying suicide attempt, the nightmare begins. The young girl who raised the alarm disappears, and Sam falls under suspicion. As increasingly sinister events threaten his life and work, Sam must face the horrors of his sister’s death to uncover the darkest of secrets in a desperate race to save those he loves.

A fast-paced, gripping suspense mystery thriller, Someone to Save You follows in the tradition of writers such as Harlan Coben, Linwood Barclay and Nicci French.

This revised edition (April 2012) addresses the editing and proofing issues of the first release.

I bought this book after reading 'The One you Love' which I had also enjoyed.

The story is about a London based surgeon and opens with a dramatic rescue/tragedy scene in which the Sam the surgeon is involved. But this dramatic event is only the start for Sam in what turns out to be a series of distressing, sometimes fatal situations. Sam recognizes that they are connected but who is ultimately behind these terrible deeds and can Sam really trust anyone?

An excellent read which I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to all lovers of thrillers.

I wish this new author lots of luck and look forward to his next book :)

Was completely hooked from the beginning and found it hard to put down. A good story line with a few twists and turns.

Needs better proof reading and editing though. Some sentences were jumbled with extra or missing words and misspellings - plane clothes - something worn on an aircraft rather than the attire of a non uniformed police officer???? Professor Khan's first name changed towards the end from Adil to Sanjay. Louisa said "he didn't kill Louisa". Sometimes Jane was the mother of four (Alison, twins and baby Jessica) then only 3 - Jessica disappeared along the way never to be mentioned again. A few 'Hylda Bakers' here and there such as exacerbated (exasperated), avail (relieve). No matter how good a story, I find poor presentation detracts from the pleasure of reading.

Having said all that, this book was only 49p for which I received several hours of entertainment and that takes some beating!

This had a great (quite gripping) beginning, and a good central character. The ideas were excellent but, in common with several other reviewers, I found the lack of editing annoying - although this seems to be common to lots of the ebooks which I've bought cheaply. As an avid reader of crime, I picked up on the fact that the surname Jackson was used twice, and stored it away thinking it was a clue - but it turned out not to be! The first name Helen was also used for three different people. I know this happens in real life, but it's confusing in a novel, especially one where the reader is looking for clues and links. Perhaps the author might invest in a baby names book?? Finally, I have to say that I was disappointed with the ending - I can't say too much for fear of spoilers, but it was as if the author suddenly got bored and decided to tie everything up in just one page.
