I have enjoyed Tom Holt's writing for years, especially the JWW book, so, I ask myself, whuy aren't I reviiewing these works of comic genius? Mainly (I replied)because Tom Holt's humourous world of magic rea;osm speaks for itself. Why, then, then, have I singled out "Someone Like Me"? It is most definitely NOT the Tom Holt I expected, not at all... it is a dark, cruel tale of fear and hatred that is so close to the surface of our own thoughts that it is doubly frighening. It is, nonetheless, a wonderful tale and futher proof of the writer's versatility. I wouldn't necessarily read this tale to children, but I would recommend this book to anyomne who enjoys a gripping tale... a tale with more twists than a corkscrew convention, perhaps.
