CD Description
Storm Gordon is both the name of a band and of the Scottish female singer/songwriter who fronts it. The new Storm Gordon band had its debut gig in September 2004 at Torontos Drake Underground during the Toronto Film Festival and is now based in the UK, ready to support the release of this album. With Storm on vocals and her Scottish songwriting partner and producer David Galbraith on guitars, keyboards and programming, the line-up features three Toronto musicians: reggae sax and flute player Isax (Dennis Brown/Abyssinians/Leroy Sibbles) and the funk and dance-influenced rhythm section of Jamaican R&B bassist Roger Williams (formerly with Ivana Santilli/The Arsenals) alongside Italian/Canadian drummer Vince Maccarone (of The Sidemen). The album was recorded in East Lothian and Toronto and features a combination of electronics and gifted musicianship, influenced by soul & jazz. For the bonus "Twilight World" animated video, Storm teamed up with Toronto animator/director Fred Wilmot (known in Canada and the US for his Prozzak videos), for which Storm created much of the computer artwork and images. The animation became a top-10 video on Canadas Bravo! Tracks: The Only Lonely Girl / Twilight World / Kingdom For A Dog / Carrion Crow / Lost On You / Family Way / Rocking Stone / I Wish You Heaven / Cherry Blossom Rain / Flower On The Moon / Bonus: Twilight World (Quicktime Video).
