4.0 out of 5 stars Mr Diggle *has* got what it takes! 21 Sep 2000
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Whenever you listen to the buzzcocks later offerings it is entirely clear which tracks are written by P.S. and S.D.

Despite being a staunch Buzzcocks and P.S fan I have to say that since the buzzcocks reformed I think Mr Diggle's tracks have had most impact on the new buzzcocks albums.

I awaited this album with great interest.... I am not dissapointed!

Steve and Pete are great musicians in their own right as well as together.

It really is a shame that an album like this will not recieve the level of public airing it deserves.

Do yourself a favour if you have ever liked Steve or the Buzzcocks buy this album, relate to the past but more importantly enjoy this version of the present and signposts to their musical future. ¦¬)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great 18 Nov 2004
By N Dad
Format:Audio CD
Steve Diggle is an extremely underrated songwriter & this is an extremely likeable collection of songs. An easy on the ear rock album, buzzing with riffs & catchy choruses. The acoustic-only numbers in particular showcase Diggle's melodiously gruff vocals.
Fans of his work with Buzzcocks will find this album a bit more refined but just as pleasing. Diggle has always had a great ear for "perfect" power-pop & "Some Reality" is a continuation of his fine talents. Also recommended is the "Best Of" CD containing his post-Buzzcocks solo & Flag of Convenience material.

Says it all from the states my daughter gave me this album absolute briilance

5.0 out of 5 stars instant classic 21 April 2001
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Steve Diggle has long been one of my favorite songwriters, going back to his days with the Buzzcocks. Though his songs weren't as abundant and usually not as catchy as those of Pete Shelley, I felt that Steve brought an aspect of emotional maturity that was lacking form Shelley's work. That same maturity is the cornerstone of "Some Reality". (Catchy guitar riffs run a close second.) But this is not an album from Steve Diggle of the Buzzcocks; this is an album from a man who is mentally free and unhindered from any comparisons to his for former collaborator(and sometimes competitior). You can tell this from songs like "Where You're From" and "What Else Can I Do", songs which would probably have alienated even the most open-minded Buzzcocks fan. Songs like "Just Because" and "Something in Your Mind" show that even in the heyday of rap and boy bands, good, old-fashioned songwriting is still the key to great music. "some Reality" is a fun, modest and musically-gratifying album that is essential for any fan of happy, intelligent music.
