I've only recently began to like James Blunt. Like many I heard his famous hits "You're Beautiful" and "Goodbye my lover" but wanted to delve further into his work. I thoroughly enjoyed "All the Lost Souls" and was quite pleased when I discovered this being released some days later.

In sum, it's a fun album. Blunt seems to be 'happy' in comparison with some of earlier works - notably "Back to Bedlam". The music is much more up-tempo. "Stay the Night", "Best Laid Plans", "So Far Gone", "Calling out your Name" are personal favourites. While "No Tears", "Heart of Gold", "Superstar", "I'll be your Man" all chip in and are welcome. "if Time Is all I have" is decent and then "Turn Me On" is rubbish and very un-Blunt like.

For me it gains four stars. It's not a perfect album and it doesn't push into 'great'. Some tracks despite being welcome are not great like the above listed and the poorly contrived ending makes little sense. There are some niggles with some tracks like for example the guitar solo in "Superstar" is odd and seems like a last minute addition.

It's an album that while not ground breaking, it is fun, accessible and easy-going. Blunt isn't doing anything new, it seems he's in a good time of his life. Worth the purchase and I'm enjoying listening to his music. I look forward to the next.

Let me start off by saying that Amazon were wrong to have a review from someone at the BBC under the product description. Poor Blunty has had a bad time in the press for "signing like a girl" and being a "feminist". I used to get harrassed for enjoying his music and this BBC review was obviously done by an anti-Blunt.

All they do is put him down. I don't remember seeing a single positive point made by the reviewer. And I thought Amazon wanted to sell this product so they can make a profit, along with Blunt himself? It makes no sense. If you haven't got nothing good to say, don't say it! Or find a new reviewer - they don't care, they get paid for putting people down!

Anyway, being a big Blunt fan, I enjoyed the album and would recommend it to ANYONE. Yes, anyone! Why? Because Some Kind Of Trouble differs from his two previous albums - it's upbeat, happy and different in a great way. Although his other albums had so much emotion that today's modern singers have none of - i.e all these rappers and singers who "throw thier hands up in the air sometimes, saying ayoooo" - this is James Blunt at his new best. In an interview, he said, "This is music I, myself, would like to hear." And that's the best description! I think there is only one song like his old ones, called "If Time is All I have". Despite this, it still differs from his other songs: a sad song in an upbeat manner. Love it...

If the customer would just listen to "Dangerous", "Superstar" and "Stay the Night", they will see what I mean by "upbeat" and the "New Blunt" - upbeat, happy but still pure emotion in his lyrics!

I can finally dance/sing along to James Blunt and smile. And I love it!

Roll on his 2011 Tour! :)

Peace out - and remember: don't judge it by the BBC!

This is probably one of the best albums I have ever bought. Everybody asks "what are you playing" and are surpised as they have never given James Blunt much of a hearing. Track 5 "No Tears" is just brill. Super music, super lyrics and I just cant stop playing this cd.

Absolutely fantastic album that is true to the form James Blunt has laid through the other albums he has released. Cheery, chirpy song to start off and the overall mood is bright throughout. We have the usual insightful songs full of feeling such as 'best laid plans' coupled with the songs that every woman wants to imagine he is singing just for her, like 'I'll be your man'. Bravo to James for keeping his own unique style and not submitting to peer pressure of others to conform to something unrecognisable as being distinct. Who wants the norm? We want different, we want good guitar, poignant lyrics and a soul searching voice, we want James Blunt!

Like all his other albums I was not disappointed with this one. You either love him or hate him and I LOVE his work, keep them coming. Even if you hate him give this one a try.
