Unlike the previous reviewer I found this modem to work without trouble.

I know it takes some setting up but show me a modem with NAT and built in firewall that does not need any setting up. At the very least it needs to know how to connect to your ISP and your password. There is more of course and as it was my first broadband modem I had to learn about this stuff. I made mistakes and once it was going, no problems. It just worked quietly in the background. I even ran a firmware update without difficulty.

The few times that there were issues arising it was because the broadband service was dropped.

It even is the DHCP server for my home network so none of the three PCs needs to be on to provide this function.

This modem may not have the most up-to-date maintenance interface / software but it is not a new modem. Get the job done and never look at it again.

My ISP provided at lot of help with the settings, that made it straight forward.

Three stars only because of its age and lack of WIFI. But it is low cost, the modern replacement I bought from Amazon was £179!

Not worth the effort. Constantly dropped ASDL signal. Later research on-line revealed this to be known fault. Firmware update process didn't work. Cheap, nasty software, Total disaster. Mine is going in the bin. All I wanted was a simple, straightforward modem. This was a bad choice. Want to give it no stars. In this case, cheap means cheap.
