Book Description

15 Mar 2007
Is Freemasonry nothing more than a benign and charitable men's social club as the Order insists or does it have a deeper and perhaps darker purpose? Could these men be part of the "Illuminati" - a group of intellectuals with extremely grand plans for the development of civilization? And if so, what is the grand plan that these men were so determined to bring about, and why should there be such opposition to it? Christopher Knight and Alan Butler reveal that present-day freemasons are the spiritual descendents of an ancient priesthood that was forced to act in secrecy. In the early days of Christianity, their views offended and opposed those of the orthodox Church, and later in feudal Europe, both the State and the established Church considered them heretics and sworn enemies. Yet, they could not be silenced - or defeated - and members of this priesthood have continued to this day to work in subtle and sometimes subversive ways to achieve their aims, often occupying very elevated positions within Western society, and always maintaining complete anonymity to those outside their fellowship. The extraordinary story that unfolds in "Solomon's Power Brokers" reveals that the building of the modern world was no haphazard process. There was a grand plan - and it has succeeded. The "New World Order" is already here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, thought provoking and spot on! 27 Mar 2009

Having read all of Christopher Knight's, Robert Lomas and now some of Alan Butler's works I can honestly say this book ties everything together in a masterful and precision perfect account of history. I am tempted to say read this first; however, it is not until you actually read all their other works does this book spring to life in a way that can only be understood when you have read the others. It is possible of course to fully understand their ideas without reading the others but you may not be able to fully grasp the depth and research these men have done until you do!

I was lucky that this just so happened to be the last one I read from these authors and as I worked through it everything from the other works came into play unfolding a story so strong and so compelling that I could not stop reading it. It took me only one day to read cover to cover stopping only to eat. I felt that I now understood the big picture more clearly, their other books do this but this work ties it together. The amount of effort and research is astounding and it is only through their sheer perseverance and dedication did this work come to life. This book has now inspired me to investigate other areas in more detail, for example the Rosslyn Chapel, which I will be starting today! The entire journey through this book was so exciting, and the facts that were presented are not only excellent but checkable!

The book left me with such a desire that I wanted to get up and do something about it myself, what that is I don't yet know, but for now I will taking my personal research on a whole new journey which was inspired by this masterful and powerful book. One thing is for sure, I will definitely be taking a trip to Rosslyn in the near future!

3.0 out of 5 stars historical nonsense 29 April 2007
This book has the same old argument that saint paul and the early church created christianity as it is today and hid the so called authors truth.Any historian or professor of theology would laugh at such imaginary and not factual history. two case in point, the book tries to claim that the four gospels were chosen because of constantine, what he does not tell you is that these gospels were the earliest written and was used by first century bishops in different chuches. also he state the ebonites were the first jewish christians taught by james. The ebonites were actualy a gnostic sect well known to the early church. check your history , these books rely on people who will believe any nonsense without looking at the real facts.
