More About the Author

As soon as Cindy understood what a story was she began making them up, at first for her sisters, then her school friends, and later her own children. At last she wrote a story 'Sebastian's Quest' that was turned into a book and published by the person who discovered JK Rowling. Now she has over 20 books in print, and lots more waiting to be written. She has even written books with her son Seb Goffe. That's him in the picture, holding one of football books they created together.

She writes about ambition, friendship, enemies, and the struggle everyone has to find out who they are, and what they want out of life.

Cindy lives on the edge of a Cotswold town, where she has deer, foxes and squirrels one side of her and funky shops and cafes the other side. She writes in her conservatory, overlooking woodland, and then shops 'til she drops in her time off. She likes clothes and cauliflower, shoes and spinach, books and broccoli, and music wherever she goes.

Reviewed by my Daughter, she says .. Solo Star is a fantastic book about a girl called Chloe, who is desperate to take part in the yearly Rising Stars concert. The show will be on TV, and Chloe thinks it'd be her big break! She's so happy when she hears she's going to be in the show, but is worried when she is told that she has to perform with a band, as she's so used to going solo. Another excellent Cindy Jeffries Fame School book !
