About the Author
Dale Kay is a former Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she was the Pervasives co-ordinator and Accounts subject leader on the Legal Practice Course. She has lecturered widely to the profession on the Solicitors' Accounts Rules. Janet Baker is a partner in private practice and formerly a Senior Lecturer at Leeds Metropolitan University where she taught the accounting component of the L.P.C. .

Tackling Solicitors' Accounts Without Tears

In 2010 I was preparing for my Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT). I had a little difficulty with the Oxford Brooks University QLTT accounting materials, so I bought the Solicitors' Accounts: A Practical Guide 2009-2010. I found the examples in this book very useful and if you followed the book's instructions in what ledgers to credit and debit in different situations, you should be able to tackle all the typical examination questions. This book covers all conceivable situations and is very useful. With this book as my reference material, I passed the Solicitors Accounts and Professional Conducts Head as well as the other two Heads in one sitting. Interested buyers should look for a more recent edition.
