Soldier Girl 4 July 2010
Format:Paperback
I bought this book for my mother - Amazon's great service outshone all the bookshops I tried. She loved it and found it difficult to put down - a sign of a great read. She now wants to try Annie Murray's other books. A great purchase.

Book review.Soldier Girl by annie murray.Molly Fox grew up in Birmingham. Her life was far from rosie. She lived with her mum who was cruel and drunk ,never a thought for her daughter. After one night on the tiles and getting drunk,Molly decided to join up to help the war effort. Also to get away from her ghastly family and hopefully make herself a better person .At first she plays the fool in training but soon realises this does not get you anywhere but in trouble so Molly knuckles down and behaves and things start looking up for the better but there is always some thing bad around the corner to spoil things. A great read I certainly enjoyed it very much and Im sure you will too.

A Birmingham beginning but this time Annie Murray takes us in to the army. Our 'Soldier Girl' is initially a tease and a rebellious soldier, but finds that the army is more reliable than most of the men she meets. Characters we can believe in and situations we can either remember or visualise, this is a really enjoyable read.
