The built-in solar panel will provide at least 3 hours of light when fully charged (with 3 LED lights) or 9 hours of light (with 1 LED light). After only one hour's exposure to light/sun, it will provide a bright light for at least one hour (with 3 LED lights) or three hours (with 1 LED light). The dynamo functions via a wind-up handle on the back of the torch (360 degrees rotation). Winding for 1 minute will supply around 7 minutes light (with 3 LED lights) or 20 minutes light (with 1 LED light).
The torch can also be used as an emergency mobile phone charger (please note that the proprietary software on some smartphones may prevent charging). The dynamo provides 4-5 volts charge DC (direct current) through the 3.5 mm jack of the USB cable provided - you may require an adaptor for your mobile phone. Three minutes of winding will supply 5-10 minutes of talk time on your mobile - sufficient time to make that important call. It will also provide up to 3 hours standby time.
The waterproof casing on this torch means that this can also be utilised in any weather conditions. It fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and can be easily placed in a pocket or bag. This high quality, sturdy torch is an essential item for any household.
Light function is excellent but can't wind it up enough to charge a phone. Be there for weeks!
Very efficient and bright. It has paid for itself as I no longer need batteries. Well constructed and quite uniquePublished 10 months ago by NB2

the solar panel will provide only a short autonomy for the light
in order to recharge your phone, be prepared to use the cranck
As a torch this works perfectly well. When I plug it into my phone and start winding the charging light comes on but I struggled to get it to charge by 1% after 5mins.Published 15 months ago by Dave
Here in the UK the solar panel is way too smaller to capture any power from the sun. The winder is good but you will NOT be able to charge your smart phone unless you are superman... Read morePublished 19 months ago by Mr G.
