I thought I'd give these Solar Brite Chinese Lanterns a try. I hung them in my porchway and they look lovely and were really easy to set up. They're perfect.

Amazon Verified Purchase
The solar panel is almost directly South facing, and not at all in the shade. The lanterns came on for about four hours the first night, about one hour the next night, and haven't come on since. We have solar lights from another manufacturer that went up the same day and stay on from dusk till dawn every night - and this is just ten bulbs versus the other manufacturer's 100.
I have no idea why I haven't returned these yet. Rated 1-star as no-star is not an option.

Just terrible
