Book Description

1 Oct 2009
Sol Searching began as a personal diary where Keidi Keating recorded her feelings and experiences after moving to Spain in 2004. Reviewing it a few years later, she realised what a journey she had endured and decided to share this with others considering a move abroad. Think Bridget Jones meets the Costa del Sol - only more real!

Product Description

From the Author

I wrote this book to help other's who are thinking of moving to Spain or another country, or those who have already relocated, to realsie their dreams and remember that anything is possible even when everything seems to be falling apart.

Our journeys are each personal, but I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason and that we all have a unique mission to fulfil.

I hope you get a lot from reading my book - not only the funny and practical side of moving abroad, but also the deeper, spiritual awakenings experienced along the way.

About the Author

Keidi Keating, has lived in Spain since 2004 when she said goodbye to her old life in the UK to embark on a new adventure and a personal journey.

She is Editor of The Sentinella, a popular A5-sized publication distributed in the Axarquia area of Spain. She is also Director of The Sentinella Global Magazine Network, which offers people the life-changing chance to launch The Sentinella in their own region.

Keidi's wealth of knowledge about Spain, Andalucia and especially the Axarquia region, shines through in Sol Searching. She is always happy to help a fellow expat in need, or anyone who is considering moving abroad to start a new life, like she did five-and-a-half years ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Fun 8 Oct 2009
Format:Paperback
A down to earth account of a young girl upping the sticks to Spain on her own, full of entertaining and in some circumstances hilarious moments. A real good chicflick type book. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nostalgia for every expat in Spain! 12 Oct 2009
By RussBoy
Format:Paperback
I will confess to actually personally meeting the author of this book when I lived in Spain for a few years, and was told not long after returning to the UK that she was writing the book by a friend who fed me the expat gossip on a regular basis.

Now for those who have never lived in a foreign country, you need to consider this before reading the book: expats of all shapes and sizes, and of many nationalities are thrown together in communities in a foreign land and a new social order is created. It's like an episode of Eastenders (or Grange Hill) as people scramble up (or try to) the newly re-establishing social ladder. Keidi's book hit's the nail on the head by addressing this. It's no coincidence that the author's current partner who is referenced in the book, is Spanish and that's what gives the whole dialogue some 'balance'. It's not the ranting of a mad woman, but a carefully composed, more often than not amusing view of life on the Costa Del Sol through the eyes of somebody who knows both side of the coin and who embraces the REAL Spanish lifestyle.

If you're looking for a book to read by the pool on holiday, or if you have lived overseas for a period of time with other expats at some point in your life, or if you just like a light hearted read, I'd throughly recommend this book.
