I came across this book by chance and decided to buy it. Couldn't put it down. I was born in Soho and grew up there through the 70's and 80's. Judith Summers describes the 'village' atmosphere and close-knit community of Soho perfectly. A wonderful trip down memory lane. The book reveals many historical facts and stories recounted by the residents of Soho itself. Enthralling. Highly recommended to anyone who's lived and loved Soho....

i work in soho and wanted a book on the history of the streets, buildings, etc. this book was okay, it did talk about the history of soho, but sometimes it went into too much details. such as, this rich person threw this wonderful party and yada yada yada 10 pages later everyone enjoyed it.
