5.0 out of 5 stars Not Just For Students, 13 Feb 2009
By
This review is from: Software Engineering: Update (International Computer Science Series) (Hardcover)
I am a Software Engineering professional with over 28 years industrial experience, and I still find Prof. Sommerville's books very informative. On many occasions I have quoted Sommerville in order to influence managers and engineers in industry.
There are very few books that give such a broad perspective on the Software Engineering discipline.

This is another in depth computer science textbook that I have found quite useful. The ways of making software are changing and to avoid making the mistakes of the past again we to learn what they were and build better systems. We will always need to do that from now on as we are becoming more and more dependant on computers so they need to run well.
