This book should be a standard reference in every software engineer's library. If your company has every tried to standardize its software practices this is the place to look. It skips over all the fluff and tells you exactly what you need throughout the software life cycle on the developer and management side. It also gives good summaries of methods used by industry and gives you references so that you can further research only what you are interested in rather than try to include it all in this one book.
