Practice Makes Perfect French is designed for beginners and intermediate language learners. It is well suited to both younger learners wanting to supplement their schoolwork, and adults approaching the language for the first time.

The software is based on learning key words rather than teaching conversation, and there are over 2000 words to learn in all. You can learn in a variety of different ways. There is a very useful section on pronunciation that takes you through the alphabet and shows how letters sound when used in words. You can learn French numbers in this section too.

In the vocabulary section, words are broken into small subject-based groupings, which you can learn by drill--there are several different kinds of exercise to help you lodge the words in your mind. For example, you can learn words by associating them with pictures, listen to the word in English and then type them in French, and practise your own pronunciation against that of a native speaker. I am currently learning French and found this CD Rom the most useful out of the many others available.

If you want to improve your vocabulary, I strongly would recommend this. Its cheap and easy to understand.

It has improved my French vocabulary a great deal, through easy and simple listening and writing exercises.

I would say that this CD Rom is ideal for GCSE and even A level students who wish to brush up on their skills.
