Whether for sporting competition, work, or the maintenance of posture, everyone needs muscles that are strong, supple, and in balance. Regular manipulation of the soft tissues plays an essential role in maintaining healthy muscles. Soft Tissue Release will transform any treatment, allowing specific problems to be addressed rapidly and effectively.

This essential guide is a compact yet comprehensive source of information for the manual therapist and will unlock the secrets of soft tissue release (STR). The book is clearly illustrated through a series of diagrams and photo sequences to show the techniques involved. Soft Tissue Release is divided into eight parts, introducing STR and then covering the technique, the lower and upper limbs, the trunk, and the neck. Pre- and post- event treatment and self-treatment are also clearly explained.

5.0 out of 5 stars STR a Must for all Physical Therapists 11 Aug 2004
Format:Paperback
This book is a Must for anyone studying or practising any form of Physical Therapy. Having been shown the technique of STR, and putting it in to practice by the author herself I can certainly confirm she knows her subject, which is very clearly emphasised in the explanation and clarity of the technique in her book. I can recommend very highly the techniques and have had some Excellent results when working with clients. I have found this book to be one that I often refer to and it has a very important place on my therapy bookshelf. A book well worth the money and investment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, could be bigger?! 27 Jan 2004
Format:Paperback
Excellent book, written by an expert in the field. For the price it could be bigger, as it seems quite thin, but then if it covers everything you need, you cant complain really?! Recommended for those working in STR and Sports Massage

4.0 out of 5 stars soft tissue release 7 Oct 2009
By carole
Format:Paperback
As it says in the title a practical handbook. Well presented with relevant muscle action content. Some abbreviations are new to me and needed to check back to understand themwhich was a minor irritation, perhaps because I am not a fan of abbreviations. All in all a useful book to have.
