Product Description

Book Description

Whether for sporting competition, work, or the maintenance of posture, everyone needs muscles that are strong, supple, and in balance. Regular manipulation of the soft tissues plays an essential role in maintaining healthy muscles. Soft Tissue Release will transform any treatment, allowing specific problems to be addressed rapidly and effectively.

This essential guide is a compact yet comprehensive source of information for the manual therapist and will unlock the secrets of soft tissue release (STR). The book is clearly illustrated through a series of diagrams and photo sequences to show the techniques involved. Soft Tissue Release is divided into eight parts, introducing STR and then covering the technique, the lower and upper limbs, the trunk, and the neck. Pre- and post- event treatment and self-treatment are also clearly explained. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

From the Publisher

a technique that's adaptable, dynamic, effective and safe
This book is now on the reading list of many schools, colleges and institutes and is required reading for all students of sports therapy as well as practitioners. It's success is based on the fact that the author is well versed in her art, knows what she is talking about, and conveys her principles in a very easy to understand format without patronising the reader. If you are a student or practitioner of any physical therapy, you can't afford to ignore this book. It will transform your career! --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

This book is a Must for anyone studying or practising any form of Physical Therapy. Having been shown the technique of STR, and putting it in to practice by the author herself I can certainly confirm she knows her subject, which is very clearly emphasised in the explanation and clarity of the technique in her book. I can recommend very highly the techniques and have had some Excellent results when working with clients. I have found this book to be one that I often refer to and it has a very important place on my therapy bookshelf. A book well worth the money and investment.
