NEW RELEASE 2014

*** SUPER-LOW PRICE FOR A LIMITED TIME ***

-- An SG Thriller Release
-- From UK's Top Selling Horror & Thriller Author, Iain Rob Wright
-- A non-stop Action Thriller

NOWHERE IS SAFE...
When a quaint village in the United Kingdom is struck by a suicide bomber, the once proud nation is brought to its knees. Yet, that first attack was just the beginning of something far greater and much much worse. Something that no one could ever have predicted.

The days to follow will determine if the UK has a future left in the modern world, or if it will be reduced to anarchy and ashes.

The one person who stands between the people of the UK and complete destruction, is a damaged ex-solider, Captain Sarah Stone. Sarah despises her country for what it did to her, which is what makes it so difficult when she is forced to save it.

SOFT TARGET is the first in a series of books featuring acerbic protagonist Captain Sarah Stone. It is a non-stop action thriller in the same vein as 24.

4.0 out of 5 stars An adventure into the thriller market. 2 Aug 2014
By Nev
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Right everyone that knows me knows I am a huge Iain Rob wright fan. This one worried me cause his other books have been horrific horror novels. This is a thriller. I didn't know what to expect or how to "compare" it. I decided not to compare it to his other horror books but to other thrillers I have read.

In that vain it didn't disappoint. It's fast moving and filled with action from the start. It revolves around the heroine Sarah Stone, an ex army captain who has seen action in Afghanistan and come home after losing everything she ever had or wanted. She is now unemployed and considered a failure by her SAS Major father. Add to that a extreme level of no self esteem and hatred of everything she is in a bad way.

Enter the MCU. A secret government backed organisation tasked with anti terrorism and keeping the UK safe. They approach Sarah for her help in dealing with a situation that is gripping the UK by the short and curlies.. Initially she resists but then sees she really has no option as ghosts from her harrowing past come back to haunt her. That's all I can say on the story without giving it away.

In this book Iain Rob Wright has proved to me at least he can pull off a thriller. The characters are endearing and you can't help but love the good guys and hate the bad guys - this is something Mr Wright does very well in all his novels - the "heroes" are thrown together from all walks of life and you would imagine they would be doomed to failure but manage to band together in so many ways to keep going. As well as the action there is a certain dark humour throughout this book that will make you laugh out loud at times.

Well written (as always) and very well put together. I imagine this is going to be the first of many Sarah Stone adventures. Not Mr Wrights strongest book in my humble opinion but I'm sure as the character develops this will change.

4 stars.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not like his other books at all 19 Aug 2014
By Els
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I love this author and have read all his other books and thought they were brilliant. This book was much harder to get into and it did not grip me at all. It wasn't terrible but it was a, bit flat and the characters not as interesting as his past characters. It will not stop me from buying future books by this author because I have faith in him to only get better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read 12 Aug 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
To be honest I half expected to be disappointed with this book when I purchased it.....and only did because Iain Rob Wright is in my top ten of writers. I have to say even tho this is not the genre I tend to reach I thoroughly enjoyed this book and loved Sarah Stone and boy what an atitude she has. I am looking forward to the next in the series so Mr Wright may I suggest you get your butt moving. For those that have not had the pleasure of reading any of Iain's work I recommend that you add him to your list of books to read, such works like Asbo, Seasick, Sam The Final Winter are just some of his great works..I could carry on but, I will leave you to look for yourselves...Once again Iain Rob Wright you have not failed to entertain me, thank you

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it! 19 Aug 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I read this only because I've read all the authors other books however I mainly only read horror. I thought it would be worth a go as I enjoy his writing style. Took me a little bit to get into mainly because I assumed I wouldn't really like it. It didn't take long before I was drawn into the story and began to love the characters. By the end I was pretty upset the second book in the series isn't out yet. Loved it and will follow the series. One of the most consistent authors around.
