About the Author
Alice Yu is a Canadian expat, living in London with her husband and black pug Deuce. Socktopus started out as a sock club and hand-painted yarn shop, but has now grown into the Socktopus Club and the Knit Love Club as well as one half of Knit Nation, London's summer knitting and spinning exhibition. Alice originally practiced as a lawyer in the City of London and has lived in London for 12 years.

A fabulous book. Not only does it include 17 gorgeous sock patterns, but it has detailed descriptions of special techniques, as well as clear photos demonstrating them. The patterns are both pretty and innovative, and include toe-up and toe-down styles. For the brave, one even includes steeking!
I intend to knit every pattern, and I can't say that about many knitting books. A must-have addition to any knitter's bookshelf (although it's unlikely to stay on the shelf for long as it will be constantly in use!)

I've bought most of the sock books available and have to say this is the best one yet. I love how clear the patterns are and the photography is really great. I think Alice is an amazing designer who has the ability to create elegant designs that are challenging yet fun to knit. I've learned a lot of new techniques from knitting her various patterns and also love her new yarns! If you only buy one sock knitting book, this would be a very good choice!

This book is just what I hoped for after reading the reviews, I will say though that it is not for beginners. I am just about to start the cover socks, which I love ,in fact I love them all. I know I will enjoy my journey knitting through this book again and again One not to miss.

Wouldn't recommend
I will be honest, I am not a huge fan of sock knitting, but I had this book as a present for Christmas and thought, upon looking at the layout etc, ok, I will give them a go. Read more
