An excellent introduction to the subject. Well-written and easy to understand. Our family has used quite a few of these 'For Dummies...'books and they have all been excellent. Highly recommended.

As someone with no prior experience, at all, of sociology this is an ingenious introduction to a broad and fascinating subject. If you're remotely interested in the history of what society is, was and will be (i.e. Marx, Durkheim and Weber, among others), as well as the fundamental indicators of social change and how they have influenced the world we live in today, give this book a whirl!
