5.0 out of 5 stars It Got Me Through, 5 Mar 2009

I used this book to help me gain my GCSE in Sociology a year ago and I got a B, which is really good for me. The book itself touches on all areas of Sociology and manages to combine informative and detailed texts with pictures that allow you to truly understand what is being discussed. Unfortunately, as with all sociology texts of the past, it has now started to become a bit dated as culture and community change at quite a rapid pace these days. When talking about current situations about culture and community, it will go out of date quite quickly. But in regards to other subjects like class and discussions of past societies and cultures, it will be helpful for a much longer period of time.

I would strongly recommend this to any student studying either GCSE or A Level Sociology as it will certainly give you a helping hand in understanding the subject.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just what you need to pass your GCSE!!, 14 Oct 2001
By A Customer
I am using this book at the moment to study sociology for my GCSE next year. I am finding it quite useful and has lots of information about each subject in it. Although I think its good I must admit I have seen better. Stephen moore is a great sociologist and I do recormend his books.
