In 'The Worldly Philosophers', Robert Heilbroner used words to the effect that there is no point reading the Utopian Socialists. Heilbroner's book is brilliant, but I couldn't disagree more on this point. Owen's ideas on education and social reform are incredibly interesting, and while he did labour over his point from time to time--which can make the reading feel a little laborious--Gregory Claey's highly informative introduction in this edition is a great guide to Owen's texts.

I am glad I bought this book because it exposes all those Marxist, as liars and haters of God given freedom. This Welsh man Robert Owen clearly created a socialism unlike the evil empire Marx espoused. Please read the Communist Manifesto, because Marxist wish to hide the fact that it says it wants to abolish MORALITY!

No wonder they murdered over 60 milllion Christians in their Bolshevik to USSR utopia, WHICH FAILED anyway!

Robert Owen did not wish to abolish morality, private property or debase women to the point we have the Marxist dream of women in the work place, abortions aplenty and sex crazed women not worthy to bless a marriage ceremony.
