Product Description

This is a very accessible book which I believe clearly outlines many of the situations and experiences which a student encounters and which can contribute to their learning. (Karen Hillison)

This timely book will be a godsend to both students and practice educators studying or new to the role.

Thorough examination of the practice learning process peppered with reference links and reflective activities makes this an engaging and accessible text. Thoroughly recommended!

(Donna Jones)

I feel this an excellent book which gives the student a step-by-step guide to Practice Learning and all the areas they need  to know about undertaking a Placement. I like how the author included young people's views. This book will also be very useful to new and experienced Practice Educators. (Elaine Flynn)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book for students! 9 Jan 2014
I think this book is an excellent book for students who are studying social work. It will most certainly guide them through both their first year and second year placements. It is really useful for me as I am hopefully going to study a social work masters course so this will really come in handy! The thing I like most about this book is that it is very easy to read, interesting and has real life comments from service users which I find very helpful and realistic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Social work practice learning; A student guide 28 Nov 2013
This book has helped me deliver a training session for Practice Educators and I will be recommending it for all our students going out on placement. It clarifies the PCF and offers ideas and activities to develop students understanding of this new framework before, during and after placement, with lots of reference to ethics and values.
