Important Book Ruined by the Style of Writing 26 Aug. 2015
By Nicholas Kadar - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This is an important book, but, unfortunately, the writing relentlessly violates the most fundamental principles of clarity. Every sentence begins with a very long subject or a long dependent clause, and is written in the passive voice. You struggle to understand exactly what is being said despite understanding every word and having a vague notion of what is being referred to. This is a shame, but it is the kind of writing that the plain English movement targets and has inspired many books on how to write plain English, the most recent of which is Steven Pinker's Sense of Style.
