Format: Paperback
This book is by far the best book I have found with regards to the fitness coaching of footballers. Last season was my 1st season in football and we won the league and with it promotion. I used the drills and information in the book to help create my own training plans, test the players and give feedback to the manager. I am now employed full time at the club and I can honestly say it was thanks to the information Simon provides the reader with.

I wanted to know the dynamics of the game as I had no experience in football and what drills were used and why. It has been written with science backing up the thought process behind the drills and it gives the reader a valuable insight into the performance of professional football at premier/championship levels and what it takes to improve the player's fitness. It deals with real examples of match intensities over a number of seasons and looks at the performance of the player in a holistic way and not just aerobic endurance. There is enough data in the text from his experience to allow you to have some 'norms' from which you can assess your players with.

It is clearly written and presented. It is a perfect size to keep in your sports bag and be used as a reference. The best book you'll ever spend your money on.
