I have read all of Carol Anne Davis' fiction books now and this one is my favourite. It is the story of Amy, a lonely young girl with an eating disorder who goes to University and finds herself even more isolated. Her only comfort is writing to Jeff, a prisoner who is serving time for `accidentally' hitting his girlfriend. In reality Jeff is a psychopath who is fixated on strangulation and suddenly Amy's life is in danger.
This novel is gritty, easy to read and totally absorbing. My only criticism is that it's quite badly edited and there is a large number of typos.
Apart from that, this is a fantastic book if you like Mo Hayder or Val McDermid.
