I got this at 199, are we sure Amazon will DEFINITELY honour this? I'm a bit worried that on dispatch, I'll get a call asking to cough up the last 100!

Ok good for you guys, but don't brag about it, some of us paid a lot more, starting threads about it is a bit of a middle finger.

Sorry dude! But I had a valid question about it!

In reply to an earlier post on 26 Nov 2012 15:02:35 GMT
To answer your question Andrew yes it will be honored, Amazon already said they would and they cannot charge you an extra 100 quid , the law does not allow it. They don't have to honor mistakes by law but they cannot cancel your order and charge you more. I really hope you get a machine mate and my comment was more aimed at the Op than you, you asked a valid question, the op just bragged.

Timeri, I understand! I just looked at the first post and I agree with you. However I am still dubious about Amazon keeping up their promise! We will see for certain this week, but I had doubts when I looked on this page: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=help_search_1-1?ie=UTF8&nodeId=1040614&qid=1353942262&sr=1-1

What we do about mispricings

Despite our best efforts, a small number of the more than 1.5 million items in our catalogue are mispriced. Rest assured, however, that we verify prices as part of our dispatch procedures.

If an item's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and send you the item.

If a product's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatch or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

Please note that this policy applies only to products sold and fulfilled by Amazon.co.uk.

The keyword there, is their discretion. They could choose to charge more. I just hope they don't. Many people report they won't, but I'm a realistic person :P

I can assure you Andrew it will get honored. A thread was started i while ago about this so i contacted Amazon and they said with 100% certainty that they where going to honor the orders at 199. Not that many people managed to grab the misprice so its not like Amazon is losing millions, in fact i bet the extra 100 quid was Amazons markup, so all they lose is profit.

Cool thanks for the info!

I chose first class, but I do live in the Isle of Man, so items can take a bit longer! So they may be preparing for launch day deliveries?!

I would be bragging too if I got it for 199.99!!
Lucky b******!!

These aren't the ones in June. That was when Amazon speculated the price and launch. These orders were made on September 13th.

MPK says:
Amazon DID cancel all June orders.

On September 13th, during the Nintendo presentation of the European release date (where Nintendo stated that every shop decides their own price for Wii U), they put the Wii U up for preorder again, starting at 199.99 for a very short period of time before raising the prices. They confirmed that they will honor these prices, so there are a handful of lucky people who get their Wii U a bit cheaper.

MPK says:
It wasn't a misprice in September. Every onlineshop wanted to bring their preorder page online as soon as possible on September 13th. And since Nintendo didn't name a suggested retail price during their announcement that day, it took a few hours before they all settled at similar prices.

I think Nintendo may have told them to take it down. Amazon didn't know that there would be two models available and so would be impossible to pre order. Imagine the mess they would have to go through checking which customer wanted which model. Was easier for them to cancel and wait.

I managed to get one at the cheaper price. To be honest, if I hadn't, I doubt that I'd bother getting one on preorder.
